Scarabs spread out all over Nashville and the
world for Interim 2007
St. Cecilia Academy students spent time in Greece, Washington,
D.C., New Orleans and at internships all over the city during this
year’s Interim week. And those who stayed on campus got to
experience classes on topics ranging from vintage clothing to Jane
Austen. Thirty-two students went to New Orleans to work at
Cathedral Academy in the French Quarter for the week while 24
students traveled to Greece to tour some of the world’s most famous
sites. A total of 60 students participated in internships this year.
Kensie Burt worked for Sen. Lamar Alexander in Washington, D.C.,
and got the chance to witness the swearing in of the new Congress.
Ten girls interned at Vanderbilt either at the hospital (two girls
worked with a trauma surgeon), with a professor or at the law
review. Other intern sites included: Overbrook School, Watkins
College of Art and Design, Baptist Sports Medicine, Ryman
Auditorium, the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, Nashville Zoo,
Channel 4, the Parthenon, The Tennessean, Cathedral of the
Incarnation and 96.3 Jack FM.
