Applicability
of Act
According to Section 1(3),
payment of bonus act applies to
Every factory (as defined in
Factories Act, 1948)
Every other establishment
in which 20 or more
persons are employed on
any day during the
accounting year
Section 16 of the Act applies to
Every establishment which
is a factory engaged in any
industry specified in
schedule 1 and in which 20
persons or more are
employed.
Any other establishment
employing 20 or more
persons or class of such
establishments which
Central Govt. may by
notification in the Official
Gazette, specify.
According to Section 1(3), this act
applies to :-
Every factory, mine oilfield,
plantation, port & railway co
Every shop & establishment
within the meaning of any
law for the time being in
force relation to shops and
establishments in a State,
where 10 or more persons
are employed or were
employed on any one day of
preceding 12 months
Such other establishment or
class of establishments in
which 10 or more employees
are employed or were not
employed on any day of
preceding 12 months as
Central Govt. may by
notification, specify in this
