Alas! CAT has changed its colour big time, possibly stunning each and every CAT aspirant. A major
change in the test pattern and definitely beyond anybody’s imagination!! For the first time in the history of
CAT, a differential marking pattern being introduced explicitly.
Each of the three sections was further sub-divided into two more parts. And we feel this is where the
catch was. Dividing a particular section into two parts, both having different weightages makes a big
difference. A lot of students had to make a clear choice as to which questions to start with - the ones with
the lower weightage or the ones with the higher. None the less, we all need to remember ... it was CAT.
The mother of all MBA entrance tests.
We gladly present to you the complete, detailed, question by question analysis of CAT 2004. While you are
viewing this analysis, please remember this was just one part of the journey you have covered. The next
stage i.e. the personality assessment and a host of other different entrance tests still remains. So gear up
for the same.

CAT - BASIC SUMMARY
This year was one of shock and awe regarding the macro structure of CAT in comparison to the last CATs
conducted. As expected, the test was definitely on the easier side.
