Close Combat Training Delivers Confidence
At Close Combat Training Headquarters, one of the biggest goals is to help motivated individuals become
more confident through the art of self defense. Every person has their own unique view of what self
confidence looks like. By definition, this trait is confidence with one’s abilities. In terms of self defense, martial
arts moves, whatever way one may defend themselves; confidence is the difference between knowing you
can protect yourself and being horribly scared.
When you learn self defense, you give yourself permission to protect yourself and your family. It may seem
that you have this permission well before you ever take steps to learn self defense; but taking actual steps is
what leads to the confidence necessary to utilize self defense skills. Simply put, self defense is as much
about mental readiness as it is about any martial arts moves or other self defense moves. And when it comes
time to protect yourself, friends or family, self confidence is a must.
Anytime you learn something new, the challenge leads you to new confidence. This goes for anything that
you learn; whether it is physical in nature or more intellectually challenging. However, many people have
stated that accomplishing a challenging physical task served as the catalyst for breaking down emotional
barriers. The immediate result of learning something that is physically challenging is the awareness of how
powerful you really are; both physically and mentally. Again, the result is a higher self confidence.
When Chris Pizzo set out to develop the Close Combat Training self defense DVD program, his aim was not
necessarily to build self confidence in people around the world. After experiencing a violent crime himself,
Chris embarked on a journey to ensure he would never find himself in a similar situation; unable to defend
