Bunge Obtains Commitments for Euro 500 Million of New Financing
WHITE PLAINS, NY - October 15, 2002 - Bunge Limited (NYSE: BG) announced earlier today that it has
completed its acquisition of an approximately 55% controlling stake in Cereol S.A., a French agribusiness
company. Upon the closing of the acquisition, Bunge assumed Cereol's outstanding debt, and is required to
refinance a portion of Cereol's debt in accordance with the related financing documents. In anticipation of this
refinancing, on October 3, 2002, Bunge obtained commitments for a (euro)500 million 364-day revolving credit
facility. The arrangers for the facility will be BNP Paribas, HSBC CCF and Societe Generale.
