BOSTON- Hockey East Association commissioner Joe Bertagna announced on Monday, September 29 the league’s compos-
ite television schedule for the upcoming 2008-2009 season at the league’s annual media day at Legends Restaurant in the TD
Banknorth Garden.
New England college hockey fans will have 62 telecasts involving Hockey East teams this season to choose from in the league’s
25th anniversary season, highlighted by NESN’s “Hockey East Friday Night” package and ESPNU’s recenty signed two-year agree-
ment. (indicated in bold). The league will also receive valuable regional exposure on Comcast (CN8), Cox Sports in Providence,
WABI-TV in Bangor, Maine, WMUR-TV in Manchester. Hockey East fans can also watch games live on the internet, as video streaming
is available at nine of the 10 league schools, excluding select TV games.
The Hockey East Association is a 10-team, Division-I college hockey conference, with offices based in Wakefield, Mass. Founded
in 1983, the league has won five NCAA championships in the past 16 years. The conference also sponsors an eight-team women’s
league which began play in 2002-03.
