INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT SYSTEM
1.1
A new case involving the same criminal defendant or a person on active community
control shall be assigned to the judge assigned to the pending case.
1.2
If, upon the date set for a civil or criminal trial, the judge to whom the case has been
assigned is absent or engaged in another trial and the parties’ counsel acknowledge their
readiness for trial, then the Administrative Judge may assign the case to any judge of that
division who is not engaged in trial at that time.
1.3
When necessary or proper, a judge may self-disqualify from a case. In those
