NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF A FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE ANNOUNCEMENT

ACTION: Notice of Availability of a Funding Opportunity Announcement for Round 3
of the Clean Coal Power Initiative

SUMMARY: Notice is hereby given of the intent to issue Funding Opportunity
Announcement (FOA) Number DE-PS26-07NT43181, “Clean Coal Power Initiative.” A
Draft FOA, is currently being developed, and is expected to be released for public
comment on or about June 25, 2007. Following a comment period of approximately 31
days a Final FOA is expected to be issued on or about August 24, 2007. Industry must
match (or exceed) the government cost share for every project. DOE anticipates making
selections leading to multiple awards for demonstration projects proffered against this
FOA in August 2008.
Once released, on or about June 25, 2007, the Draft FOA will be available at Grants.gov
(http://www.grants.gov) and the DOE’s Industry Interactive Procurement System (IIPS)
(http://e-center.doe.gov). Interested parties are encouraged to register at these web sites
to receive notification of the release of the Draft and Final versions of the FOA
documents. Instructions for registration are found at the IIPS and Grants.gov websites
by selecting “Register” and “Get Registered”, respectively.
Responding to the Final FOA, applications must be prepared and submitted in accordance
with the instructions and forms contained in the Final FOA and submitted to Grants.gov.
Applications will be due on or about January 22, 2008. The final announcement
document will allow for requests for explanation and/or interpretation.
Applications cannot be submitted through Grants.gov unless the applicant is registered.
The registration process allowing interested parties to apply can take up to 21 days. The
Draft and Final FOA documents will only be made available
