Citigroup Inc. Announces Appointment of Edward
Skyler as Executive Vice President, Global Public

NEW YORK--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Citigroup Inc. today announced that New York City Deputy
Mayor Edward Skyler will join the company as Executive Vice President, Global Public Affairs. In this newly
created position, Mr. Skyler will lead all external and internal communications and share leadership of Government
Affairs and Investor Relations. He will be charged with ensuring that Citi’s global dialogues with the public,
governments and investors are effective and consistent. Mr. Skyler will report directly to Citi CEO Vikram Pandit
and serve on the Senior Leadership and Executive Committees.

judgment, work ethic and problem-solving skills will serve Citi well as he directs our strategy for communicating to a

Mr. Skyler, who will join Citi in early May, is currently the New York City Deputy Mayor for Operations. He has
overseen strong performances by the City’s main operational agencies and served as a top budget, legislative and
labor negotiator for Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg. Mr. Skyler oversaw four consecutive balanced and on-time City
budgets; negotiated legislation to reform lobbying and “pay-to-play” practices; and reached agreements with labor
unions to reduce pension and health costs. He has overseen a variety of critical initiatives, such as sustainability
planning and the Mayor’s campaign against illegal guns.
