Picnic in the Park
Our annual picnic in the park was once again a special time of
good food, good fellowship, and even a few laughs. Many of our
Kiwanians made it along with their spouses. It was good to see the
Sharons, Joy, Ann, Dianne, Ruth, Bill, and Richard. Special guests
included Wendy Priest (E-W Key Club Advisor), Kaori Maeda (Key
Club Kiwanis scholarship recipient), and Amy Hickey, another old
Juneau high school friend of Elwin’s.

As always, the Set-Up Committee, lead by the intrepid Ray
Roe, did an outstanding job of organizing and executing the event.
Helping Ray to ease the picnic stress syndrome were Mattie, Clayne,
and Dick. This years chicken recipe was outstanding, the strawberry
shortcake was scrumptious, and the coffee…well, we need a Norski
to make it a wee bit stronger. Oh yes, all those wonderful plates of
food, salads, etc. our members brought, they were absolutely
fabulous. Thanks again to Ray, Dick, Mattie and Clayne.
