Mood-lites® and The University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center are proud to partner
with The Estée Lauder Companies' Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign's Global Landmark
Illumination Initiative to illuminate University Hospital in pink lights to raise awareness about
the importance of breast health and early detection.
(PRWEB) October 8, 2009 -- Michigan-based company Mood-lites and The Estée Lauder Companies' Breast
Cancer Awareness Campaign are proud to announce the first illumination of The University of Michigan's
University Hospital on the evening of Monday, October 12, as part of The Estée Lauder Companies' 10th
Anniversary of its Global Landmark Illumination Initiative, a worldwide initiative during Breast Cancer
Awareness Month to raise awareness for breast health and the importance of early detection.
A special ceremony will be held at huge boulder commonly referred to as the 'Rock' near the University of
Michigan on the corner of Hill and Washtenaw. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. and we will celebrate and honor
survivors with painting and lighting the rock pink, giving people a chance to write names of those they honor on
the rock, drinking pink lemonade, and grabbing swag bags (the first 200 participants). Speakers will be present to
talk about the importance of early detection, the University of Students Acting Against Cancer, and more. We
will have Sassy Mood-lites, as we hope everyone will go home to participate in the illumination by lighting their
porches, businesses and world pink for breast cancer awareness on the 12th and throughout the rest of the month.
This partnership will raise awareness and money for breast cancer research as the community turns pink with
Mood-lites. Mood-lites will donate a portion of sales from the pink bulbs to The Breast Cancer Research
Foundation® (BCRF). The University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center is joining in this Initiative to
shine a light on the importance of breast
