3 Easy Chords in G
It is quite simple to play in the key of G - in order to get
started, let’s take a look at one of the chords that you
already know:

With the D chord and standard tuning, it’s only necessary to play the bottom 4 strings - the
notes are D, A, D, and F# in that order.

Now for the next chord we are going to use all of the strings, and you’ll learn 2 different
ways to play this chord - the one that I am talking about is the G chord - this one is very
common so get used to it!

Both of these chords are very similiar. The second one doubles the D in the chord, and the
first one doubles the B of the chord. Both will sound great, but I find the second one works
better in combination with other chords, as you will see in a minute!
The next two chords are C and C9, both which work really well in this key. C9 is especially fun
because it is so similiar to the G chord (alt.). Try combining G, C, and D in various strumming
patterns. Great job!
