weeks as they explore through “hands-on” activities

Science one week.

Games one week.

Going For Gold
I imagine pastors all around the country are using the Olympics as a launching
point for their September newsletter article. Here’s one of them.
I’m generally not interested in gymnastics, swimming, track and field or diving (this is my
short list), but when it comes to the Olympic games, my interest gets piqued. I’m not sure why.
Maybe it’s the international flavor or the fact that it only happens every four years. If it hap-
pened only every fifty years, I might even get interested in water polo. But not now.
Perhaps the main draw is watching the reaction of those who “win the gold.” It is a
proud moment when an athlete steps up to the center platfor
