Statement From the Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee offers its sincere appreciation
to everyone who was asked to consider election to a leader-
ship position. Regardless of whether you accepted or de-
clined an opportunity to serve, we hope your time in prayer
and reflection enriched your relationship with our Lord.
Over the past six months, the Nominating Committee
invested considerable effort in the process of selecting po-
tential candidates. In order of priority, our discussions were
based upon: Biblical standards (1 Timothy 3 for example),
the requirements of the Castleview Constitution, and com-
mittee job descriptions. In addition, the Nominating Com-
mittee sought invaluable input from the Elders and Dea-
cons because of their Biblical understanding and extensive
knowledge of our church membership. The results were
approved lists of carefully assessed potential candidates for
each Board and Committee.
Potential candidates were contacted using a priority rank-
ing for each person, by position, that had been developed
by the Nominating Committee. The committee pursued
candidates until the approved lists were exhausted or until
time ran out for the process.
As in past years, not all boards and committees received
enough commitments to fulfill the constitutional objective
of twice as many candidates running as positions up for
election. Particularly notable, the Elder and Deacon elec-
