Paul loved to travel and tell everyone he met about Jesus. In today’s lesson,
Paul is in a town called Troas.
On Sunday, Paul met with the Christians on the third floor of a building.
They had a special meal to remember how Jesus died and came back to life. It
was a special time because Paul was going to leave the next day to go to another
Many people came to hear Paul talk about Jesus. One of the young men
that was there was named Eutychus (Pronounced You-tick-us). Let’s call him Tick
as a nickname. Tick listened to Paul and learned many things about Jesus. There
were so many people that Tick sat in the window of the room.
Paul shared until the daylight was slowly leaving. The people lit many lamps
to keep the room bright so everyone could see.
Paul continued talking until past midnight. Slowly, Tick started to get sleepy.
He probably had a long day and his eyes started to get very heavy. Probably the
lights from the lanterns made him grow more and more sleepy. Quietly Tick fell
Suddenly, everyone heard a crash! Tick had fallen out of the window onto
the ground below. He had fallen three stories!
The people rushed down the stairs to get Tick. When they looked at him,
they just knew that he was not alive.
Paul hurried down the stairs. He encouraged the people and said that they
did not need to worry; Tick was alive! It was a miracle; Tick was alive and he had
no broken bones.
