DMV, Taxpayer Services open
Washington County office
In an effort to centralize state agencies in one of the nation’s fastest growing areas, the State
divisions of Motor Vehicles and Taxpayers Services will open a new Washington County office beginning
Monday, August 13.
These two divisions of the Utah State Tax Commission will open at 100 South 5300 West in
Hurricane adjacent to the recently opened Drivers License Division office. Both the Motor Vehicle and the
Taxpayer Service offices will be closed on Friday, August 10 while the move is under way.
DMV, which has been at 10 N. 100 East, St. George, continues to add online services to alleviate
the need for citizens to visit the officer personally. Most vehicle registrations can be completed online at
The new DMV office will continue to title and register vehicles. This office also is a full service
branch for the motor carrier trucking industry.
Washington County is also the home of four “On the Spot” authorized renewal stations. These local
emission and safety inspection stations perform one-stop inspection and offer registration renewal services.
They are authorized by DMV to renew vehicles and issue decals with an updated registration.
Taxpayer Services, previously located on 359 East Riverside Drive, St. George, will continue to
offer a full range of services for Washington County businesses and citizens. Taxpayer Services maintains
front-line contact with the public on tax issues, provides customer service, collects delinquent taxes, and
