ENTERPRISE DATA STORAGE SUPERVISOR
Definition
Serves as the team leader of the Enterprise Data Storage team, and performs complex
research for a group of Server Systems Programmers required to install, support, maintain,
patch, manage, troubleshoot, and upgrade software on specific operating systems, enterprise
data storage infrastructure, utilities, and enterprise applications; and performs related duties as
required or assigned.
Typical Tasks (illustrative only)
Serves as the point of contact for projects involving the deployment of new operating software
or projects involving the upgrade of existing software; performs, directs, and monitors
generation of these systems to include up grades and patches, to ensure that new systems
meet enterprise specifications, function properly, and are installed with minimum user
disruption; manages project teams and reviews and evaluates assigned staff members;
performs the more complex team activities; in compliance with enterprise standards, maintains
current standards, procedures, and documentation and develops and administers procedures to
incorporate new or changed software; develops training for and trains employees, as required;
provides user support and education; conducts performance studies to monitor efficiency; is
responsible for data management; participates in hardware and software feasibility studies;
documents corrective procedures; and maintains the technical library.
Supervision Received/Given
Receives general supervision from a supervisor or manager. May supervise lower-graded
employees, as assigned. May provide guidance and assistance to full-, part-time, and/or hourly
employees, as required.
Education/Experience/Skills
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in computer
science or a related field, plus six years of progressively more responsible experience in
developing, implementing and maintaining computer operating software systems and enterprise
