Call Meeting to Order, Roll Call, Invocation, and Pledge of Allegiance.
Mayor Brockett called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Roll Call was taken by the City Clerk.
Invocation by Mrs. Dottie West. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor Pro-tem Lujan.
Mayor Brockett announced that we add to the executive session the proposal by Freeman
for water rights. Commissioner Cole moved to approve to add it to the executive session.
Commissioner Ferguson seconded the motion. Motion carried with a vote of 6-0-0.
PRESENTATIONS:

Presentation regarding the status of the Tularosa Basin Historical Society project.
Elizabeth Padilla thanked the City Commission for allowing the Tularosa Basin Historical Society to
make this presentation. From January 2009 to May 2009 the Alamogordo Museum of History had
2,100 visitors come to the museum and approximately 26 volunteers gave 1,687 hours to the upkeep
of the museum. The museum receives approximately 5-10 donated items per week. These items
pertain to the history of Otero County. The museum houses over 3,000 books, artifacts, and
documents pertaining to the history of Otero County. Museum staff offer educational tours to children
from Kindergarten to High School and we have an old history program that is unmatched in this
region. She continued with information about the Plaza building. Because of space restrictions and
the number of artifacts the museum has, we have been searching for a relocation. Presently besides
the museum building, we have two additional areas where artifacts are stored. Therefore a larger
