Corvus Integration, Inc., a privately-held corporation based in Vienna, VA, and provider of
identity solutions consulting services and products for government, announces the release of its
MicroBooking StationTM, a portable multi-modal biometric collection and matching solution with
tethered biometric scanning devices that enables security personnel in the field and on site to
capture and match face, fingerprint, and iris biometrics along with images of tattoos, marks, and
scars, identification documents, and personal data. Powering the MicroBooking StationTM is
RavenTM, the proprietary biometric application developed by Corvus that provides full-function
identification capability and an intuitive, user-friendly interface that supports multiple biometric
technologies with image import and export capability and watch-list matching. The flexible
design also enables additional biometric technologies and products to be integrated quickly and
economically.
Over the past eight years, biometrics has become a staple in law enforcement and the war
against terrorism. From domestic law enforcement activities, to capturing multiple biometrics for
persons of interest on the battlefields on foreign soil, to the management of visitors at borders
around the world, governments are taking action to protect their citizens and resources from
potential harm. Multi-modal biometric identification management is also finding its way into
police booking stations and many countries are adopting the use of multiple biometrics in their
ID cards and Passports. Based on its highly adaptable design, Raven is ideally positioned to
meet a variety of client requirements as this need for these type solutions continues to grow for
the foreseeable future as biometrics technology continues to evolve, public acceptance
increases and total cost of ownership comes down.
