ONE FINGER CANNOT PICK UP A STONE
A
fter a series of meetings held in
November, the women’s wing
of the Liberia Association of
Indiana has elected a five lady council
to represent them in the new govern-
ment.
Speaking on behalf of the women
Mrs. Jassah Kabbah said their decision
to form a new council was taken in
order to include all Liberian women
of Indiana in every decision that will
have an effect on the community. She
said the women have lots to offer for
the community, and achieving these
goals can only be done by bringing
the women together and uniting
them under one umbrella. Mrs. Kab-
bah is calling any Liberian woman
who feels that they have been mar-
ginalized in the community, to attend
the next women’s meeting on the 3rd
Sunday in December. Any such griev-
ance will be high on the agenda.
Those elected to the new council are:
Mrs. Sando Karmo, Mrs. Ayo Clark,
Mrs. Jassah Kabba, Mrs. Alice

new
council,

Association was
headed by Mrs. Ruth
Tartee who resigned
sometime this year be-
cause of personal prob-
lems. In her resigna-
tion statements, Mrs. Tartee said her
resignation does not mean that she will
abandon the Association. She voiced

emerge stronger than before.
