A Regular Meeting of the County Board, County of Peoria, Illinois was held on
Thursday, May 11, 2001 at six o’clock p.m. at the Courthouse.
The meeting was called to order by David Williams, Chairman.

JoAnn Thomas, County Clerk, called roll of attendance and the following members of the
Board were present: Baietto, Budzinski, Elsasser, Kennedy, Lickiss, Mason, Monroe,
Phelan, Prather, Trumpe, Watkins, Widmer and Williams- 13 present and Joyce, O’Neill,
Pearson, Polhemus and Thomas -5 absent.
PROCLAMATIONS
• A presentation by Robert Pomeroy regarding a donation to Peoria County of an
oil painting of the first six Courthouse buildings.
Robert (Boomer) Cole, Facilities Management, introduced the artist and the
painting to the Board. Mr. Pomeroy served as Executive Director of the Public
Building Commission from 1956 until 1993. During that time he commissioned a
painting of the first six Peoria County Courthouses which he is now donating to
Peoria County. Cole thanked Mr. Pomeroy on behalf of the County for his gift.
• A presentation of a check by Peoria County Board Chairman David Williams in
the amount of $375.00 to the Vice-Principal of Greeley School, John Wetterauer,
that are the proceeds of a fundraiser during "County Government Week".
Michelle Repaal, Public Information Officer, presented the $375. 00 check to
Vice Principal, John Wetterauer. Wetterauer thanked Michelle Repaal for
spearheading the fundraiser. He announced that the money would be used to
purchase incentives and rewards for students’ good behavior at the school.
• A presentation of a check by Peoria County Regional Superintendent of Schools,
Gerald Brookhart, in the amount of $13,470.00 to Peoria County Sheriff, Chuck
Schofield, to help defray the cost of the operation of the Drug Abuse Resistance
Program (D.A.R.E.).
