Champaign Moving Forward
he City of Champaign is in the process of preparing the City’s Transportation Master
Plan, which will become an element of the Comprehensive Plan and replace the
existing Transportation Plan developed in 1992. The development of the
Transportation Master Plan will be based upon the public’s input as to how the City of
Champaign will grow and technical analyses of what transportation solutions are
necessary to accommodate future growth. The Transportation Master Plan will create a
vision for a multi-modal transportation system that helps to achieve the City’s goals of
sustainable growth. The Plan will also give technical and policy direction for decisions
related to planning transportation facilities in the City. Our primary goal is to develop a
well-balanced transportation system that offers choices in how people travel and is
supported by a realistic plan to fund these improvements.

everyone can live with.

picking a preference, but instead you will be exploring the implications of each choic
