THIS HANDBOOK CONTAINS THE OFFICIAL FCIC-APPROVED LOSS ADJUSTMENT
STANDARDS FOR THIS CROP FOR THE 2001 AND SUCCEEDING CROP YEARS. IN
THE ABSENCE OF INDUSTRY-DEVELOPED, FCIC-APPROVED PROCEDURE FOR THIS
CROP FOR 2001 AND SUCCEEDING CROP YEARS, ALL REINSURED COMPANIES
WILL UTILIZE THESE STANDARDS FOR BOTH LOSS ADJUSTMENT AND LOSS
SUMMARY OF CHANGES/CONTROL CHART

information that has been removed.
Changes for November 2000 Issuance (FCIC-25030):
In the Table of Contents, sections 7 B and C were reversed so that the Apple Production Appraisal
Worksheet procedure precedes the Apple Quality Adjustment Appraisal Worksheet procedure.
In section 2 B, added abbreviations APA for the Apple Production Appraisal Worksheet and AQA
for the Apple Quality Adjustment Appraisal Worksheet. Also, deleted the definition for U.S. Cider
grade apples and added a definition for Varietal Group.
In section 3 A, added insurability information for Option “C” coverage. In section 3 B, added
references to Option “C” and the Coverage Enhancement Option. In section 3 C, added unit
division procedure for Option “C.” Finally, in section 3 D, added a note referencing the internet
address for USDA grade standards for fresh and processing apples.
In section 4 A, added notice of loss information when marketable fruit is left on the trees at harvest
