A.T. Servants' Newest Lil' Hiker-
A.T. Servants is proud to announce their latest lil' hiker---Tabitha
Suzanne Miles. In late April, Tabitha born at 3:15 A.M to Craig and
Suzy--directors of the ministry. She was 6 lbs 9 oz. and 19.5 inches
long. She was in perfect health. The first two gifts she received were
some hiking socks by Smartwool and a baby backpack carrier! She
has already been on the trail 7 times since birth--including a trip to
the top of Wayah Bald! This little girl is a huge blessing to her
parents and we know that God will use her to increase our witness
on the trail!
First Baptist Church of Franklin, NC Feeds Over
200 Hikers at Their Church
During March and April of each year the weather on the trail is a little cool and hundreds of wide-eyed
hikers endeavor to hike the entire 2,175-mile trail. After 106 miles they make their way in to their second
trail town, Franklin, NC. Having tasted a bit of the harness of the trail, many of these hikers have moved
past the mere physical challenge of hiking to begin to experience the emotional challenge as well.
Formidable weather, difficult terrain, and the enormity of what they are endeavoring has begun to sink in
as they ponder, "It's taken me this long to hike 100 miles and I still have more than 2,000 more to go!"
This is where A.T. Servants meets them in Franklin, North Carolina.
This year, A.T. Servants partnered with First Baptist Church
of Franklin, NC this year to put on a pancake breakfast for
hikers for 21 days straight in March and April! 206 hikers
from 26 states and 5 countries were picked up from hotels
and brought to the church each morning at 7:15. 40
volunteers cooked for the hungry hikers as they devoured 70
lbs of bacon, 50 lbs of pancake mix, and gallons of coffee
and orange juice.
With the trail still looming ahead, hikers were often eager to
