Welcome back. The
spring semester opened with
a bang with “Spring into the
UC”—our welcome back
event during the month of
January. This event saw
participation from various
UC-based departments and
commercial tenants who
added to its success.
The UC has added two
new members to its family
of service providers. The
UPS Store opened in a tem-
porary location while its
permanent space is being
renovated. Chili’s Too
opened on February 14 and
offers great food and a great
atmosphere for faculty, staff
and students. Renovation
work is also nearing its end
for the Rios Hair Salon,
which will open in March.
The UC Advisory Council
(UCAC) continues its work
with UC administration and
is currently discussing the
department’s budget. At the
end of the fall semester, the
Council approved new facili-
ties, labor and resource fee
schedules for FY2011.
With several of its
members graduating at the
end of the spring semester,
UCAC will be recruiting new
members to serve on the
Council starting in the fall
semester. Contact Annie
Maynes at 458-4745 if you
are interested in serving on
the council.
The weatherproofing
project is still on-going and
should be completed during
the latter part of the spring
semester. This project will
allow the UC to reduce en-
ergy consumption and mini-
mize leakages throughout
the facility.
We look forward to see-
ing you in the University
Center and hope you will
take a
