Council met in a REGULAR MEETING. The Council President called the meeting to order; the Ward 4
Councilor offered the opening prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance was cited.

READING AND DISPOSAL OF MEETING MINUTES - NONE
The Council President presented RESOLUTION NO. 2008-64 A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF SAFE
BOATING WEEK, to the following U. S. Coast Guards personnel: Officer-in-Charge, Chief Petty Officer
Timothy Woody, Petty Officer Markiel Perkinsm Petty Officer Anton Lesovsky and Mr. Matt Zlocki, Ohio
Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). Chief Petty Officer Woody thanked the body politic for the
recognition and said they are doing everything they can to keep our waters safe. Mr. Zlocki thank the body
politic for proclaiming Safe Boating Week; reported in 2007 there were 14 boat fatalities across the state;
commented on how important life jackets are; and noted there have been no fatalities in 2008. Ms. Kist
moved, Mr. Roskovics seconded the adoption of the resolution; motion CARRIED.
The Council Vice President announced three Ashtabula area Girls Scouts (Cassie Seaman, Lacey Cunningham
and Kimberly Olson) achieved the goal of Girl Scouts Gold Award, the most prestigious honor a girl between
the ages of 14 and 17 can earn from the Girl Scouts organiz
