Workspace to Boost Productivity? 
In the digital age, most of us spend hours at our desks, which can lead to back 
pain, eye strain, and overall discomfort. Proper workplace ergonomics is not only 
a matter of comfort but also efficiency. So, how can you set up your workspace 
to promote productivity? 
Chair as the Foundation of Healthy Sitting 
The key element is the chair. It should be adjustable to allow your feet to rest 
flat on the floor with your knees at approximately a 90-degree angle. Your back 
should be supported, and the lumbar support should match the curvature of your 
spine. Investing in a good office chair is an investment in your health. 
Desk - the Basis of Efficiency 
Your desk should be large enough to accommodate necessary work tools and 
allow for organization. If possible, choose a desk with height adjustment, 
enabling you to switch between sitting and standing positions, reducing the risk 
of circulation problems and backaches.  
Monitor at Eye Level 
Position your computer monitor so that the top edge of the screen is at or slightly 
below your eye level, reducing the risk of neck strain. The distance between your 
eyes and the monitor should be approximately 50-70 cm. 
Keyboard and Mouse for Relaxed Hands 
The keyboard should be at a height that allows your elbows to rest on the desk or 
on chair armrests. Your wrists should be in a natural position, not bent upwards 
or downwards. Place the mouse close to the keyboard to avoid overstretching 
your hand. 
Eye-Friendly Lighting 
Good lighting is crucial. Try to utilize natural light but avoid direct sunlight on the 
screen. Additionally, install appropriate artificial lighting that doesn't create glare 
on the monitor. 
Personalize Your Space with Accessories 
Personal accessories, such as footrests or wrist 
rests, can significantly enhance your work comfort. 
It's essential to tailor your workspace to your 
individual needs. 
Remember that regular breaks are as important as 
a properly organized workspace. Taking short 
breaks every hour to stretch your legs can do 
wonders for your concentration and health.
