The Written Word of God is central to every prayer. However, the Holy Spirit will show you how to apply the Word to your situation. I have found in almost all the examples I will give, that it is optimum if you can find someone who will agree with you (Matthew 18:20). In addition, it is essential on a daily basis to renew your mind by reading God’s Word (Ephesians 4:22-24). Our warfare is in the realm of our mind. Satan will attempt to break our focus through negative thinking. How do you renew your mind? God’s Word itself addresses this question. We should meditate day and night in the Word (Joshua 1:8; Psalms 1:2-3; Isaiah 4:5-6). As we do this, the scriptures will wash and cleanse our thought life (Ephesians 5:25-26). It is the key to having “good success”, especially in your prayer life (John 15:7). Preface We live at a time when there is very little “fear of the Lord” in our land. In many circles, Christianity has become preaching the Gospel in “word only”. It was never God’s intention to just hear the Word preached, but to see a demonstration of God’s power (John 10:37-38). Consider this scripture which tells of God drying up the waters of Jordan, so that Israel could pass over into the land of promise: “that all the people of the earth might know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty, that you might fear the Lord your God forever”(Joshua 4:24). Let me call your attention to Paul’s word in Romans 15:18-19 “For I will not to dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not accomplished through me, in word and deed, to make the Gentiles obedient, in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, so that...I have fully preached the gospel of Christ”. Paul preached the balance of grace and faith, but his preaching was accompanied by mighty signs and wonders which is God’s pattern for us today (Hebrews 13:8; Mark 16:20). It is high time for the Lord’s church to step out in demonstrating the power and might of God’s Kingdom. Our prayer is that you would be stirred in your heart to “make the Gentiles obedient by word and deed (Rom.15:18-19). Chapter One : “FIRST THINGS FIRST” Where do we start? How do we begin to see God’s power released for healing and turning people to the reality of Jesus Christ? I believe it has to begin by not just studying the Word of God, but by meditating and savoring His Word. Listen to this wonderful verse from the book of Mark that shines true light on Biblical meditation: “And He said unto them, be careful what you are hearing. The measure (of thought and study) you give (to the truth you hear) will be the measure (of virtue and knowledge) that comes back to you-and more (besides) will be given to you who hear” (Mark 4:24 Amp.). How do we meditate? Why not start by studying the promises of God (2 Peter 1:3-4). Prepare a journal. Write out the promise. Read it out loud several times. Pray in the Spirit over the verse (Jude 20-21). Then write what the Lord has shown you. Don’t rush, linger for awhile in His Presence and in that verse. When you eat a wonderful steak (presuming you are not a vegan), you don’t gobble it with ketchup. You savor it, you take time to enjoy the experience. Next see yourself realizing the promise and experiencing it. In addition, it is essential that you be filled with God’s Spirit and have a freedom to pray in tongues (1 Cor.14:13-15; Jude 20-21; Acts 2:4; 9:17) (1 Cor.14:18-19; Acts 10:44-46;19:1-6). It is my thought that one of the reason’s Paul moved in such revelation was that he prayed in tongues more than his peers (see 1 Cor.14:18). This book is not an apologetic for the operation of the gifts of the Spirit, but to show signs and wonders are a normal part of our Christian walk (Hebrews 13:8). Get ready to be stirred by the testimonies I will be sharing in the following chapters. Before launching into testimonies of many different kinds of signs and wonders this book will focus on, I want to say that there are many forms of prayer: petition prayers, intercessory prayers, prayer and fasting, thanksgiving prayers, healing prayers, and prayers of agreement to name a few. However, I want to examine what I call prophetic prayer and what are its ingredients. There are many, many times we do not know “HOW” to pray specifically for a matter (Rom.8:26-27). But as we partner with Holy Spirit, He will reveal to you the promise to stand on and declare to see the miracle. During the course of this book, I will be sharing a number of examples to illustrate how the Holy Spirit can move. I have definitely not arrived, but as one great teacher has said, “I have left the building”. There are some scriptures that I want to bring to your attention that will be essential in releasing the power of God’s Spirit in the powerful Name of Jesus Christ. The first scripture I want to look at is Matthew 18:19, often called the “prayer of agreement”: “Again I say to you that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in heaven.” In conjunction with that promise, the Word tells us it must be “according to His will”(1 John 5:14). God’s Word is His will and specifically the promises of God(2 Corinthians 1:18-20). Notice Paul does not say these promises are “yes” and “no”. Not “Yes” for the first century church and “No” for the 21st century church. Rather ALL the promises of God are both “yes and amen” in Jesus Christ. The Greek word for “agreement” in Matthew 18 is “sumphoneo”. The word “symphony”is derived from this word. Think of a symphony of various kinds of instruments, blending in harmony and one accord. Do you believe that when at least two or three of you are in agreement concerning a thing, God will answer? Your answer should be “Yes and Amen”! Let us look at what the Lord tells us in 2 Peter 1:3-4: “as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him, who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us great and precious promises that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust”. It is essential to know and understand that we have already been given everything that pertains to life and godliness. However it is released as we grow in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Everything we receive from the Lord is by grace through faith (Eph.2:8). We are righteous through the gift of righteousness in Christ (Romans 5:17). In turn grace (releasing the promises of God) is released as we walk in the righteousness of Jesus Christ by faith in His Word. In turn, we will begin to confidently speak out those promises (2 Corinthians 4:13). As we grow in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus, our mind is renewed daily. In turn, we “put on Christ”as we affirm daily who we are in Him (Ephesians 4:22-24). Another wonderful promise is found in Romans 4:17: “...God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did”. In the same way God created by His spoken word, He has given us the power to create: we are either creating life-giving things or death-producing things (Proverbs 18:19-20). So, as the Lord did with Abraham, calling those things that are not as though they were, so we can speak His word, His blessing of healing and prosperity over people who have yet to experience these glorious benefits. Mark 11:23-24 is another wonderful scripture that we should seriously study. Consider the following aspects of these verses: 1- We have to speak to the mountain (whatever impediment we face). We must use the sword of the Spirit which is God’s Word. 2- Not only should the “mountain” be removed ,but disappear: “cast into the sea”. 3-If we have consistently meditated in God’s Word concerning His Promises, doubt will flee. Remember, God cannot lie (Numbers 23:19; Hebrews 6:13-20). 4-We will have what we say. If you have a past history with the Lord, you will be convinced that you will see the promise manifested, even if it takes some time. However, this kind of prayer is not just a petition, rather it is a declaration, using God’s Word as a sharp two-edged sword (Heb.4:12). Another kind of prayer is the “prayer of blessing” seen in Numbers 6:24-27. Under the New Covenant, Jesus is our High Priest and not after the Levitical priesthood, but after the Order of Melchizedek: it is a “blessing” priesthood (Hebrews 7:1-3,14,16,22, 25-28). As a result, we are “kings and priests unto God”(Revelation 1:5-6; I Peter 2:5,9). When we “bless”, we should put the God’s Name on those we bless (Numbers 6:27). For instance “we bless in the Name of Jehovah Jireh, the Lord Jesus Christ our Provider”. The remainder of this book will serve as illustrations of utilizing these prayer principles and accompanying answers that took place. These awesome answers the Lord provided not only glorify Him, but have given me great confidence in the wonderful power that is available to us as believers. Read these wonderful testimonies of God’s goodness and provision. My prayer is that they will inspire you to believe and receive what you need and desire. Chapter Two: HEALING MIRACLES I am going to share ten healing miracles with you. These are not, by any means, all the healing miracles I have seen, but are representative of the Father’s loving provision of physical healing. “Repentance and Healing Go Together” This particular miracle took place in the early 1970’s at the Word of Faith Church in New Orleans, Louisiana. There was a man who was an ordained minister at our church who one day suddenly discovered he had a serious physical problem. Brother Ed awoke one morning to find a troublesome growth in his abdominal area. Being a veteran, he went to the Veterans Hospital in New Orleans to find out what the problem was. He was told to come back on Monday (his appointment was on a Friday) as the medical team wanted to do exploratory surgery, as they were looking at a very large tumor. Upon returning home, Ed did some serious soul searching and praying, inquiring of the Lord as to the cause of this dilemma. After a time of crying out to the Lord and listening, the Holy Spirit turned his attention to an issue that he had with the Senior Pastor of the church. The Lord showed him he had let anger smolder until it had become unforgiveness. He was the pastoral leader serving the Lord’s Supper each month as well. After his meeting with the Lord, Brother Ed purposed in his heart to deal with his problem in a Biblical manner. He waited until the Sunday evening service to formally humble himself and repent before the pastor and the church. Just as the service began, Ed quickly came out on the platform with a basin of water. He proceeded to kneel at the Pastor’s feet, weeping and confessing the sin of unforgiveness. He then asked the Pastor’s permission to wash his feet and it was given. As Ed finished his mission of washing the Pastor’s feet, the Pastor helped him to his feet and then called for the elders of the church to gather around Ed (James 5:14-15). As we gathered around him, laying our hands on his swollen abdomen, we commanded the tumor to “go” in the Name of Jesus. Suddenly, that large tumor vanished right in front of us. The whole church exploded in worship and praise. What a way to open a service! Brother Ed went to the hospital the next morning and there was no trace of the tumor! “THE PARALYZED WALK” On another occasion, our Pastor , Charles Green, had to go out of town to fulfill a speaking engagement. He had started a series on our radio broadcast on physical healing and asked if I would be willing to teach on that subject until he returned. After finishing the morning broadcast, I walked into the main office. Just then the phone began to ring. A lady on the other end of the line had just heard the broadcast and asked if someone could come to her apartment on Alvar Street(in New Orleans) and minister healing prayer for her. I agreed to come with one of our elders and then asked what her actual need was? She explained that she had had a stroke 21/2 years earlier and was completely paralyzed on her left side. I spent the rest of the morning in prayer and meditating on the healing miracles of Jesus. Later that afternoon we knocked on her door and were met by her sister. She explained her sister was fully dressed and was lying on her bed waiting for us. Upon entering the bedroom, we stopped and asked Holy Spirit how He wanted us to speak to her condition? The Lord told me to first speak to her hand, commanding the paralysis to go. As we spoke life to her hand, we told her to begin moving her fingers. The paralysis had left and she was able to freely move her hand. The Spirit then told us to speak to the paralysis in her arm to go. We did and it did! Immediately she raised her arm and repeated that motion over and over again. “What now, Lord?” we inquired. He said, “speak to her leg”. We told her to put her newly restored hand on that paralyzed leg. Then we put our hands on her hand, commanding the paralysis to loose her. “Tell her to stand” the Holy Spirit spoke to us. Instantly she stood. We had her to both sit and stand over and over again. “Tell her to walk toward you” Holy Spirit instructed us. Haltingly she moved toward us but was able to keep her balance. Then she pointed to her toes. Over the years they had literally curled under her foot due to the paralysis. Obediently we spoke to her toes to become whole and straight. Instantly her toes were restored as new. With great joy we called to her sister to join us in the room. We told her we were only instruments of healing but the Lord Jesus had done the work! Then we had a sustained time of thanksgiving and praise for what the Lord had done. The next day, that dear sister was laying tile in her kitchen! On Sunday she came to our church to give God the glory. Everyone shouted God’s praises and healing ensued for many. “THE MIRACLE WARD” On another occasion, I received a phone call from one of our members at Word of Faith. She told me her next door neighbor’s young daughter was in a ward at Charity Hospital. The young lady had one kidney that had stopped functioning and the other kidney was shutting down as well. The doctors were fighting to save the good kidney. She asked if I could visit the young girl and pray for a miracle. Early the next morning, I dropped Ina off at her place of work in downtown New Orleans and then made my way over to Charity Hospital. She was a very sweet girl about 13 years old. She possessed a gentle demeanor and let me know she believed Jesus could heal her. She also let me know she was a believer and loved the Lord. I explained to her that Jesus had already purchased her salvation and her healing through His death, burial and resurrection. I then explained to her about anointing the sick with oil (James 5:14-15). After anointing her, I spoke to both kidneys to be made whole. Sometime late the next day, I received an extremely encouraging phone call from the lady in our church that had asked me to pray for the girl. She told me the doctors stated the girl was in “the miracle ward”. Not only were both kidneys restored but the lady in the bed on her left side was made whole who was expected to die. In addition, the lady on her right side was healed of a particular disease! I was ecstatic. After ending the phone call, I inquired of the Lord about what had happened, as I had not prayed for either of the other ladies. The Lord told me to read Matthew 27:50-53. The resurrection power of Jesus had been so great, some of the graves were opened in Jerusalem and many old saints were seen at that time, raised from the dead. The Lord told me there was an “overflow” of the Spirit in the ward on that day. I told God I didn’t feel anything. He said “that is because it was not you doing the healing (2 Corinthians 4:7). “A Miracle at a Bank” While we lived in New Orleans, we banked at the Hibernia Bank. Every Monday, I would make a deposit and carry on friendly banter with the teller who was serving me. One one particular Monday, a lady named Mrs. Nguyen was my teller. I asked her my opening question, “How are you feeling today?” She replied, “I am not well sir. I should be home with my children. I have fever and they are at home sick as well.” I asked if she would like prayer? She nodded and said, “Yes, please”. I asked if she would give me her hand. Somewhat taken aback, she cautiously extended her hand. I then proceeded to rebuke the fever in the name of Jesus Christ. Then I sent the healing word to her children, commanding the fever to leave them (Isaiah 55:11) . On Wednesday evening just before the start of our mid-week service, one of our ladies (who happened to bank at Hibernia) approached me. She asked if I had been to the bank that day. I told her I had not. She responded, “well, you better go, because the lady you prayed for was healed . She wants to tell you personally what happened.” Thursday morning, as I entered the bank, even before I could get to where she was stationed, Mrs. Nguyen shouted “It works! It works!” Her story unfolded: she said as I was leaving the bank, her fever vanished and did not return. When she returned to her home, all her children were completely healed! I will tell you, as believers, we have authority to use the name of Jesus as we participate in the work of the Kingdom of God (John 16:23; Acts 3:16). Please note we are not to pray for healing rather just heal the sick (Luke 9:1-2). “ A ROACH USHERS IN A BLESSING” One morning I received a call from a lady in our church named “Maggie”. She told me her husband Bob had just incurred a severe heart attack. It was engendered because somehow air bubbles had gotten into his bloodstream. He had been rushed to the hospital and was desperately in need of God’s healing touch. Bob was not a believer, but he gave me permission to come and minister to him. I told Maggie I would leave immediately. As I drove to the hospital, I sought the Lord as to how He would have me minister to this man . The Holy Spirit told me to anoint him with oil and explain to Bob the purpose for anointing with oil (James 5:14-15). I then asked the Lord, “what is the purpose of anointing with oil for healing?” The Lord informed me it was a sign that he was separating himself to God to do His will. I sensed the Lord would heal Bob, but wanted him to surrender his will to the Lord. Upon arriving at the hospital, I found Bob was in good spirits, but very concerned about his condition. Cutting to the chase, I asked him if he was ready to surrender his heart to Jesus Christ? He answered “Yes I am”. I then explained why I would be anointing him with oil for his healing. He said, “anoint me pastor!”. I did and spoke a complete restoration of his heart. Later that evening I received an incredible phone call from his wife Maggie. She proceeded to tell me she had arrived at the hospital at lunch time. As she brought the tray up to her husband, she lifted the lid off the plate. Suddenly, a roach lept out from his plate! Bob yelled, “that’s it, I am out of here!” Maggie then said to him that he couldn’t leave, that he was still very sick. Bob replied, “I feel great, the preacher came by and anointed me. Bob left the hospital and went home with his wife. The next week he checked into the LSU Medical Center in New Orleans. They found no trace of any heart problems. Apparently up until that time no one had ever survived air bubbles in the blood stream. God is so good! “THE POWER OF THE GIFT OF TONGUES” On another occasion, I received a phone call from a young man who had married a young lady from our youth group. Since their marriage, they had drifted away from church. It had been two years since I had heard from them. His voice on the other end of the phone was desperate. Their little girl was battling for her life and the doctors at the East Jefferson Hospital were running out of answers. The young husband told me he had cried out to God for help and my face appeared to him. The Lord told him to call me. After hearing his cry for help, I told him I would come right away to see the child. After hanging up with him, I told the Lord I had “no clue” as to how to pray for their little child. I knew the correct way to speak to situations like this, but I knew I really needed a word from God to direct me (Romans 10:17). On my way to the hospital, I began to pray in the Spirit(1 Corinthians 14:13-15). I then asked Holy Spirit for an interpretation. As I opened my mouth, this is what I heard myself say: “You shall not pray for this child. I have put healing gifts in her father. I am sending you to lead him back to me.” I was stunned but sensed God’s Presence confirming the word. Now that I had God’s direction, I confidently walked into the girl’s room. Her father grabbed me and thanked me for coming. I told him the word the Lord gave me. He fell on his knees, crying out to the Lord for forgiveness. After pouring his heart out to God, I told him the Lord had put healing in his hands for his daughter. He prayed and I left. Within just a few days she was home and completely whole. Man shall truly not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). “A MIRACLE OPENS A DOOR” A landmark healing took place before Ina and I left Shreveport, LA. in 1996 to travel for one year in itinerant ministry. One of the members of our church there is a man named David Westerfield. David wrote a bi-line for the Shreveport Times. Sometime between the end of 1995 and the start of 1996, he was struck down with what I would call a virus that attacked his brain. It became so severe that he could not sit up. He would become terribly sick and could not hold anything down. Much prayer went up for David. Then, in the late spring of 1996, Ina and I went again to the hospital to see him. He was very depressed, wondering if he would ever recover. As we praised the Lord and waited in His Presence, the Holy Spirit came into the room in a powerful way. We all felt it to such a degree, we all began to laugh. Ina and I told David and his wife they would soon see the results. We left the hospital and I began my traveling ministry. It was not until January of 1997 that we found out what had happened. In that month, we received a phone call from “Guidepost Magazine”. The lady on the other end of the phone asked if I knew a man by the name of David Westerfield? I said “yes, I know David”. Then she proceeded to ask if the events I described actually happened. I verified these things were true. She then said David had submitted an article describing how right after we left the hospital, he was healed. The disease never returned. Cancer was defeated! The wonderful thing was that article came out one month before we planted our church in Raleigh, North Carolina. It was the May issue 1997, of Guidepost Magazine. It served as a bridge, opened doors to testify God’s miracle touch to the people we would pastor. “FORGIVENESS RELEASES THE MIRACULOUS” Not long after we began hosting the Healing Rooms International at River of Life Church, a wonderful event took place that illustrates the power of forgiveness. It was a Monday night and about a dozen people all showed up at once for prayer. As a result, it was “all hands on deck” for our prayer team. One young man sat in the back of the auditorium looking very unhappy. He was a body -builder but he had blown out his left elbow and was not able to lift anything very heavy. He handed us back the paper we asked him to fill out and said to us, “it’ll take the whole prayer team to heal me.” In the prayer room, prior to meeting with him, we read over his request and began to pray in the Spirit, asking the Lord to reveal the key to his healing. The Holy Spirit let us know he had a lot of unforgiveness that was preventing him from believing God for his healing. We took him into one of the back rooms in the church and I told him the Lord had revealed to us there were some people he needed to forgive who had hurt him. We told him God loved him greatly and as he would release these people, healing would break forth for him. I asked if he could agree with that statement? He answered that he could agree with that. Then I asked him to close his eyes and we would ask the Holy Spirit to bring before him the faces of those he needed to forgive. As it turned out, he had a long list of people he needed to forgive. We began and by the time he was through releasing people, it had taken 20 minutes. As he forgave, tears began to flow down his cheeks. Finally, he opened his eyes and let us know he was done. The Lord had already healed his elbow 2000 years ago on the Cross. We were enforcing the victory Christ Jesus had secured for us. We spoke complete restoration, keeping our hands on his elbow for a good two minutes. Then I said to him, “now lift something you could not lift when you first arrived here”. Immediately, he went over to a chair and picked it up with that arm like it was a feather. Tears of gratitude to the Lord began to flow as he expressed his thanks to Jesus for his healing. When we forgive, it releases God’s awesome power of healing. The Lord has not called us to judge each other, as it turns us into negative, critical and fault-finding people (1 Corinthians 4:5-6). When the Lord brings correction to us and we embrace it, He releases something life-giving and redemptive in us. “A WOMAN HEALED OF COPD” One of our dear friends, Alta Woodard and her husband Walter host a weekly soaking and Bible study in their converted Tobacco barn in Spring Hope, North Carolina. Alta had been suffering from a malady called COPD that affects the lungs. She had been suffering from it for a good while and was under a doctor’s care. Once a month, Ina and I go there to minister and in February of 2014, Alta asked us to pray for her healing. As we anointed her with oil and began to pray, all of a sudden, Ina declared a vision God had given her. The vision was Jesus gasping for breath on the Cross. Ina declared “Jesus suffered with His breathing and loss of blood to bring wholeness to you, Alta.” Instantly, Alta drew a deep breath, then another and another. From that moment until now (October 2015), she is completely healed and has not had to take any of the medicine as her physician declared her totally free (for which the TV ads say there is no cure). As a matter of fact, she gave all her medications to another patient. As a result, Alta invited a man she and Walter met in Bunn, North Carolina who was suffering from COPD to their meeting. During the course of the meeting, the man asked for healing prayer. Alta’s testimony had impacted him and caused faith to arise in his heart for healing (Revelation 19:10). We sensed the Holy Spirit wanted to use Alta to speak the word over that man. As Alta laid her hands on him, compassion and confidence welled up within her. God touched him with His healing power she had received from the Lord the year before. The man began to take deep breaths for the first time in many weeks. A side story: as a result of this man’s healing, he had faith to ask for prayer for his restaurant business that was failing. We spoke financial blessing over his business and at last report, his restaurant has been full of customers! Praise the Lord Chapter Three: “FINANCIAL MIRACLES” As I wrote earlier, God’s promises cover everything that concerns “life and godliness” (2 Peter 1:2-4). Jesus blessed Peter’s business in the 5th chapter of Luke and again in John, chapter 21. The Lord loves us and desires our businesses to prosper (3 John 2; Psalm 37:27). I will be sharing stories to bless you and encourage your faith to speak over your finances, your business and your needs. My first story I want to share with you concerns a need to enlarge a man’s business. Sonny was a native of New Orleans and a member of our church, Word of Faith, Charles Green was the Senior pastor. Sonny owned a small bakery shop off of Haynes Blvd. He told me, “Pastor David, we really need a miracle in our finances so we can move to a larger facility.” When you make a faith declaration for a miracle, ask Holy Spirit for a word from scripture to speak, as God always confirms His word (Psalm 103:20). The word I sensed for Sonny was Isaiah 54:2-3, “Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your habitations; Do not spare; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left..” After agreeing with my brother and speaking God’s Word over his shop I left. By the end of the week I received a call from Sonny. He had a wonderful report. Not long after I left, he received a call from the management at the Superdome in downtown New Orleans. They passed over scores of larger bakeries and offered Sonny a contract to produce 10,000 rolls a week during the football season. That contract allowed him to move into a larger facility and serve more people. Praise God for His faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22-23)! The Bible literally says in Romans 10:17, “now faith comes by hearing and hearing a rhema (quickened word) of Christ”. As the Holy Spirit gives us a word from scripture, we release our faith by speaking that word and we see a miraculous result. Remember the words of Jesus, “the words I speak unto you they are spirit and they are life” (John 6:63). “THE MIRACLE OF CANCELLED DEBT” Several years ago, Ina and I traveled to Wilmington, North Carolina for some good fellowship with a minister friend of ours and her husband. As the evening ended, they asked for prayer concerning a very large debt load they were carrying (into the hundreds of thousands of dollars). The Bible says “ask and you shall receive that your joy may be full” (John 16:24). In addition, Jesus tells us to speak to “the mountain” (whatever obstacle we face). This can be found in Matthew 21:21-22. But in the next verse (verse 22), He says “and all things whatever you ask in prayer believing, you will receive”. In these verses, Jesus shows a link between speaking to your mountain and asking in prayer. One of the ways then we are to ask is by taking a promise and declaring it to our situation. We did not see our friends again for almost a year. Then one Sunday we invited them to come and minister for us. In her sermon, she mentioned that Ian and I had spoken to the mountain of debt. Within a short time half of that debt was miraculously cancelled. $600,000 to be exact ! The Lord God Almighty is always faithful to His Word: “for You have magnified Your Word above all Your Name” (Psalm 138:2). “EXTRAORDINARY SALES” Several years ago, Ina and I and our good friend Debbie Earp met an old friend and her husband at the Raleigh Home and Garden Show. They were selling beautiful teakwood furniture and sculptures. We had not seen Sheralee since the early 1980’s in New Orleans. She and her husband were at the show for the weekend but their sales had been minimal and they only had a short time (roughly 24 hours) to move the furniture. After talking for a few minutes, I asked if they had ever sold all of their inventory in a weekend show? No, they had not. Then I asked how much inventory they was shipped to the Raleigh show. They responded by telling us they had brought furniture and sculptures totalling $100,000. I declared that we should believe for all of the inventory to be sold by closing time on Sunday….adding “with orders for more”. They agreed and we all joined in speaking over this beautiful furniture to all be sold with orders for more. Within minutes of our faith declaration (Matthew 18:19), a couple walked up to Sheralee’s husband and purchased a gorgeous table and chairs for their porch. We smiled, blessed them and left for home. In the early evening on Sunday, Debbie received a phone call with an amazing report. All $100,000 worth of their inventory was sold with orders for more!! Sheralee and her husband gave the church a beautiful teak wood, carved sculpture of fish. How appropriate for the vision of “River of Life” Church. “A SATELLITE BUSINESS TAKES OFF” While in Shreveport, Louisiana in the mid-nineties, a new member of our church asked for prayer for his new business venture: a satellite TV business. He had a small office and was the only employee. He needed sales to get it off the ground. I met him at his office on Monday, just before noon. I spoke with him about the importance of agreement in prayer (Matthew 18:19). After he specifically laid out his vision and desire for the company, we joined hands and spoke God’s blessing over the company. It is important to consider that when God blesses, He multiplies (Hebrews 6:14). When we bless someone with a heart of faith, increase will come. After all, we are the seed of Abraham in Christ Jesus and heirs according to that promise (Gal.3:29). After declaring blessing and increase over his business, I asked him if he would care to join me for lunch? He stated he had no money for lunch. No problem, I treated him with favor and a blessing lunch. I did not hear from him for about two
