PORTLAND, Ore.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Business Valuation Resources, LLC (BVR) is thrilled to
announce “Valuation Issues in Estate & Gift Tax”, a 100-minute teleconference on March 4. The panel consists of
three of the most recognizable names in business valuation; this program will undoubtedly set new standards and
raise the bar for all engagements that involve estate and gift tax issues. Panelists are: Jay Fishman, a member of the
Internal Revenue Service Advisory Committee, and Chris Treharne, a nationally recognized expert on estate and gift
tax valuation issues, and hosted by Linda Trugman, author of the forthcoming BVR’s Guide to Valuation Issues in
Estate & Gift Tax, this exclusive BVR presentation will focus on all the issues inherent in performing business
valuations for estate & gift tax purposes.
“In light of all of the new penalties that are coming out of the Internal Revenue Service relating to appraisers and tax
preparers, it’s becoming more and more important that we step up the quality of the valuation work that we’re doing
and really understand what it is that we’re appraising,” says Linda Trugman.
Lucretia Lyons, President of BVR, adds, “Jay Fishman, Linda Trugman and Chris Treharne are a dream team for a
program on estate and gift tax complexities unique to business valuation. Hosting this session is a feather in BVR’s
cap – we know it will re-shape the conversation on this topic.”
Over the course of their presentation, Trugman, Fishman, and Treharne will cover both the long standing challenges
in estate and gift tax valuations as well as new case laws and emerging considerations in such fields as fair value
market value standards and subsequent events.
