Exhibits Invited for StampShow 2008 in Hartford
Prospectus and entry forms are now available for both the Open Philatelic
Exhibition and Literature Exhibition at APS StampShow 2008 August 14–17.
Th e 122nd Annual American Philatelic Society Convention will take place at the
Connecticut Convention Center, 100 Columbus Boulevard, in Hartford.
Th e deadline for the receipt of completed entry forms and fees is May 1.
However, the StampShow exhibition is almost always oversubscribed, and
entries are generally accepted in the order in which they are received, so prompt
submission is highly recommended to avoid disappointment.
Patricia S. Walker of Maryland will chair a jury consisting of judges Darrell R.
Ertzberger of Virginia, James W. Graue of Washington, Th omas C. Mazza of New
York, William R. Schultz of Pennsylvania, Edward J. Siskin of New Jersey, Ronald E.
Strawser of Texas, Alan Warren of Pennsylvania and Robert G. Zeigler of Indiana.
Th e philatelic exhibition will consist of approximately 900 frames. Of these, 300
are reserved for the annual Champion of Champions competition between prior grand award
winners of all World Series of Philately national shows for the previous year.
Th e remaining 600 frames will be broken down roughly as follows: General Class — 450, Youth — 40, Single Frame
— 20, Picture Postcard — 50 and Noncompetitive — 40. All General Class divisions including Postal, Cinderella, Display,
Illustrated Mail, Revenue and Th ematic are welcome, although it is anticipated that the bulk of these frames will be for the
