The morning program will focus
on biodiesel: advantages, costs and
benefits along with the basics of
manufacturing biodiesel. Bob Lussier is
the owner of Great Woods Companies.
Bob has been manufacturing and using
biodiesel since June 2007 in all of his
forestry equipment. He will be sharing
his experience ,along with costs analysis,
on how this new innovation in fuel has
benefited his timber harvesting company.
Billy Balch is the owner of New
England Biodiesel Equipment and
supplies. He represents the “Fuelmeister”
line of biodiesel processors. Billy is one
of the pioneers in this area of biodiesel
manufacturing.
The afternoon program will focus
on truck safety inspections and laws. A
representative from the CT DMV
Commercial Vehicle Safety Division will
spend the afternoon going over all aspects
of truck safety from record keeping and
log books to tie-down rules, and more.
There will be a tri-axle log truck,
detached tractor, low-bed trailer and flat
bed trailer available for the program. He
will also be available to answer any
questions you may have regarding
operating a commercial motor vehicle in
Connecticut.
A hot buffet lunch will be pro-
vided as part of the program.
