Exam4 installation and use instructions Fall ‘08 I. How to get the exam software 1. Open your web browser and in the address bar, type in: http://law.wisc.edu/help/for_students/securexam 2. Read the instructions there and click on the link to the Exam4/Extegrity website. • (From this point on, the instructions on the website should be enough to get you through the process, however, these steps are duplicated below for your convenience.) 3. At the Exam4/Extegrity website, click on “for LAW SCHOOLS” in the left hand menu. 4. Navigate to the Wisconsin section of the listing (you can quickly jump there by clicking on the W shortcut) and select “UW Law School.” • (Please note that it is of critical importance that you download the UW Law version of the exam and not some other school’s version. Each version is custom tailored for each school.) 5. Fill out the download form, select the operating system that you are using, and click “Submit Form” 6. Verify that the selection on the next page lists UW Law School and click where indicated to initiate the download. 7. Choose to SAVE the file. • (Depending on your web browser, it may be saved to a set location or you may be asked where to save the file. The file you are downloading in this step is the exam software. This file is the application itself, not an installer. It can be saved and immediately run to take an exam. The file is a .zip file, but shouldn’t prove to be problematic for either a Windows or Mac user.) • Both Windows or Mac users can simply double click the downloaded file and the application should be automatically extracted to their desktop. II. Successful Upload Confirmation/Reciept It is extremely important that you receive a confirmation message that your exam has been uploaded. It should look like the following: Congratulations, you’re done with your exam. Make sure to follow whatever additional instructions your proctor may have.
