The awards were given to recognize each company’s "Excellence in Loss Prevention and Risk Management" efforts in 2008. The award is broken down into two categories: 1) Larger Companies – Great than 100 employees 2) Smaller Companies – Less than 100 employees In addition, the following criteria was utilized for the selection of these awards including; each Company’s performance with respect to risk management goals & objectives established by APi Group. The metrics that were evaluated included, but were not limited to: • An entity EMR • An OSHA Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) • An OSHA Frequency Rate (FR) of 0.0 • A Total Incurred Loss Cost / Hour • An Entity Safety Committee that generates corrective action plans and maintains safety awareness • An Entity that has committed itself to the STEPS Program and applicable goals and objectives • An Entity narrative discussing what made them stand out from the others APi companies To the surprise of none, the Jamar Company was presented with the X-cup for large companies for the third year in a row. Despite, the impressiveness of such consistency, the real story of the award ceremony was Anco Products Incorporated.
