About Friends of County Parks
The Friends of the County Parks, established in 1988, is a group of concerned citizens joining together to promote financial and community support to the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation, and Conservation Department. They develop public awareness of recreation as an important part of day-to-day life.
Funds provided by The Friends of the County Parks are used as a supplement to the Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department budget and does not replace allocated tax dollars. These additional funds helps maintain, improve, and enhance services provided by the Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department. The Friends of the County Parks enjoys a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit exemption status.

3RD ANNUAL ROY WILCOX AND FRIENDS GOLF
TOURNAMENT – NOVEMBER 2ND
Thank you too all that participated in this year’s 3rd Annual
Roy Wilcox &Friends Golf Tournament. It was a great day.
We had 56 golfers show up to play along with PSTB
participants helping with raffle drawings, the putting
contest and playing in the tournament. Proceeds from
the day benefit Paralympic Sports Tampa Bay and Friends
of the County Parks. Special thanks to our sponsors and
Summerfield Crossing Golf Course.
ED RADICE MEMORIAL 5K RUN AND 1 MILE
WALK – JANUARY 11, 2020
Save the date – the first Ed Radice
Memorial 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk will be
held on Sat. January 11, 2020 at Ed Radice
Sports Complex. Family, Friends, Fun,
Kindness, Loyalty and Love were all things
very important to Ed Radice who was the
director of Hillsborough County Parks &
Recreation for over 30 years. Registration
for the 5K is $30, 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk is
$15 and if you just want a t-shirt $10.

DANIELLE KANAS
Paralympic Sport Tampa Bay athlete
Danielle Kanas has been selected to
represent TEAM USA at the upcoming
International Wheelchair and Amputee
Sports (IWAS) World Games February 20-
28, 2020 in THAILAND. Danielle qualified
to compete in shotput, javelin, discus, 100
and 200 meter races. Danielle has worked
extremely hard for this honor and we all
wish her good luck in her competition!

HIKING SPREE HAS BEGUN
The Annual Hiking Spree kicked of on Saturday,
November 9th at Upper Tampa Bay Conservation
Park. Hillsborough County is offering a variety of
places for you to get out and walk/hike a trail at our
recreation centers, conservation parks and preserves.
There is something for everyone.
BEST SHREDDER CONTEST AT
JACKSON SPRINGS NOVEMBER 15TH
Jackson Springs will host the last in the
Best Shredder Series on Friday, November
15th. Contest will be held throughout the
night for all ages. Come to participate or
just enjoy the evening watching everyone
display their skateboarding skills.
TURKEY BOWL AT NORTHDALE
The Annual Turkey Bowl will be held at
Northdale Recreation Center on
November 27th. This event is the end of
the season flag football tournament for
the recreation centers. The winning team
will receive turkey legs for all their efforts.
This is an all day event so come out and
check out all the action.
