New York Fishing Season Begins for the Captree Princess Captree Princess , a chartered fishing boat operating out of the park, is an 80 foot Super Cruiser that serves as a public boat, available for registered excursions. Later in the year, the Captree State Park area features Blackfish and Cod. The Captree Princess caters to groups of up to 50 for Group Sail and rates vary. The Captree Princess is US Coast Guard inspected to carry up to 150 passengers and the boat features a main, heated cabin, separate restrooms, seating around the boat, and a large upper deck. Onboard fishing instruction is offered through trained, experienced personnel. A daily fishing report is available on the company's website and trips are now being booked for Spring 2022. Fishing trips are also available on the sister ship of the Captree Princess, the Captree Pride. Captree State Park is home to the largest fishing fleet on Long Island, a fishing haven, and picnicker's delight. It is a 340-acre state park located south of Captree Island on the easternmost end of Joes Beach Island, and overlooks the Fire Island Inlet and the westernmost section of Fire Island.
