Knife attacks are extremely dangerous
That is especially true when you’re on the ground with an opponent on top of you holding a
knife. The chances of you being able to defeat him are feasible, but difficult. So, let’s dive
deeper on how to defend yourself from a knife attack on the ground.
With that being said, it’s extremely important to know some basic and advanced knife
defense tips if ever you’re in a dangerous situation like this.
In a knife fight, stay aware at all times
When you’re faced with an attacker who has a knife, things tend to move rather quickly and
there are several shifts in positions.
With that in mind, it’s extremely important for you to be focused on the knife and its
whereabouts. The last thing you want is to lose focus on where the knife is and have your
opponent strike you with it.
Stay on your feet and avoid hitting the ground at all cost

One thing to remember is to try to not end up on your back. This position leaves you too
vulnerable for your attacker and makes it easier for him to strike you.
Having solid footwork skills is essential to self defense but it’ is even more with knife
defense.
You want to try and switch positions so you’re on top and mounting your attacker. This will
allow you to strike him and once you do, you want to focus on getting back up on your feet
as quickly as possible.
