The Russo-British Chamber of Commerce (RBCC) is a not-for-profit membership organisation established to foster and maintain strong business links between Russia and the UK. Since its inception in 1916 the Chamber has worked as a business facilitator providing information, offering business support and organising lectures and seminars, all with the purpose of encouraging and promoting greater business and cultural co-operation. The RBCC in the 21st century. Now in its ninth decade the Chamber is entering a new era of Russo-British relations. All sectors of the Russian economy – from retail to professional services - are enjoying an unprecedented period of sustained growth. The UK has quickly adapted to and taken advantage of the opportunities presented by the Russian market. The fact that in 2006 the UK was the number one foreign investor in Russia is testimony to the strength of bilateral relations. Never before in the 450 year history of Russo-British relations have the two countries’ interests been so closely aligned. Our aim is to continue and strengthen this alliance. What can the RBCC do for you? The RBCC works primarily as a business facilitator and information provider. Over the next few pages the various services offered by the Chamber to its members are explained. These services have been put together to suit a wide spectrum of companies. So whether you are a sole-trader or a multi-national corporation, whether your company is well established in Russia or entering the market for the first time we can assist and support your business. We are here to help make your business activities easier, faster and more effective. 1 INTRODUCTION . The RBCC Bulletin The RBCC Bulletin is our monthly publication, in both Russian and English. The journal contains editorials from leading Russian - UK commentators, articles on key trends in the economy, sectoral reviews and a summary of relevant news events. It is a useful resource for companies to stay abreast of current trends and events affecting Russia - UK economic relations. The Bulletin has an average monthly readership of 8,000. It is sent to all UK and Russian members as well as the Russian Federal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the British and Russian Embassies, regional administrations throughout Russia and a large number of major hotels, restaurants, and business centres. The Website The RBCC website (www.rbcc.com) with a hit rate of up to 90,000 per month, provides vital information on doing business in Russia including a summary of important news events, updated regularly. It is also an important source of information about the work of the Chamber enabling companies to keep informed about future RBCC events and register online for seminars, networking events and conferences. All members are listed on the website and have exclusive access to the online members’ directory. The RBCC Observer The RBCC Observer is a weekly digest detailing the main news stories affecting business in Russia and the UK. It is sent by e-mail and is available only to RBCC members. 2 SOURCES OF INFORMATION . Annual Conferences The RBCC holds two flagship conferences a year in both London and Moscow. These two day conferences are a great opportunity for those hoping to expand their business activities in Russia and the UK, with a series of presentations and seminars addressed by leading figures from the political and commercial spheres. Seminars, Roundtables & Workshops RBCC organises a wide variety of business-to-business events – such as our quarterly economic roundtable – to enable members to hear from a wide range of UK and Russian speakers. Speakers include business and financial analysts, leading figures from the commercial world, and fellow- members with practical experience to share. These meetings give you the opportunity to find out more about business in Russia and UK and to meet others who are in a similar area of business or stage of development. We also organise regular sector-specific briefings and seminars, which attract keynote speakers and provide a forum for discussion. Regular Business Networking Evenings and Business Introductions Networking is an invaluable contributor to business success. Regular business drinks in central London, Moscow and St Petersburg offer an ideal opportunity to socialise and network on an informal basis. 3 EVENTS Advertising Opportunities The Bulletin offers excellent advertising opportunities for those wishing to raise their company’s profile amongst a targeted audience. All new members receive a free 200-word editorial in the Bulletin, whilst current members are actively encouraged to contribute to the Members’ News section. Discounted rates are offered to members wishing to place advertisements in the Bulletin and on the RBCC website. The RBCC can also help drive awareness of your company’s products and services through direct-mail and e-shots. Advocacy The RBCC maintains close links with the Russian and UK governments to track and promote a variety of policy and practical issues. We work on behalf of our members’ interests and have, to this end, regular contact with Embassies, Consulates and Ministries in Russia and the UK. Consultancy Through our partnership with the Russian Federal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a network of 110 regional Chambers in Russia, and extensive membership base the Chamber can provide unbeatable regional research and advice, allowing you to access potential markets, partners and suppliers well beyond the “twin capitals.” Our in-house capability can be supplemented by partnerships with selected general business and marketing consultancies in order to offer more detailed, sectoral-specific market entry consultancy for all sizes of business. Event Management The RBCC is able to arrange both events and trade delegations for members wishing to raise their profile within Russia and the UK. There are also many sponsorship opportunities available to member organisations. 4 . BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SERVICES Joining the RBCC In order to join the RBCC please fill in the below application form and return it to us by either fax or post. The form contains details on membership fees. Once we receive your completed application form we will invoice you and advise of the next steps. Membership fees can be paid by either automated credit or cheque. Membership commences for a period of twelve months from receipt of payment. There are charges for certain premium RBCC services, including market research consultancy, marketing support services and certain RBCC events and seminars. Members benefit from heavily discounted rates. Contact Details The Chamber has three permanent offices in London, Moscow and St. Petersburg all of which our staffed by those with specialist knowledge of the region and fluent Russian and English.
