How to Win a Ribbon at the 2008 Arizona State Fair
Take the first step in your quest
Phoenix (July 9, 2008) –Ever dream of decorating your mantel with a blue ribbon or showing off your
handiwork for all to see? Whether you’re 4, 104, or any age in between, here’s your chance to make your
dreams a reality. The 2008 Arizona State Fair Exhibitor Handbook is now available online, at county
outreach offices statewide and at all Phoenix Public Libraries (see list below). The Exhibitor Handbook
provides extensive details on all of the Fair’s many competitions and available prizes, as well as
directions on how to enter. Categories include 4-H, smallstock and livestock; agriculture; creative crafts
& collections; culinary arts (including canned goods and beer & wine); fine arts; floriculture; mineral &
jewelry; photography; and student art & technology.
Anyone can compete in the Fair – all ages and abilities are welcome. Youngsters and young of heart,
beginners and seasoned pros alike, can showcase their talents in a variety of areas and vie for a coveted
state-awarded blue ribbon. The Exhibitor Handbook explains all the requirements for entry and serves as
a resource for closing dates, receiving dates, judging dates and release dates for the entries.
Don’t delay, as entry deadlines begin September 10 for Creative Crafts, Culinary Arts, Fine Arts,
Photography and Student Art & Technology Arts.
