An email containing the User Name and a temporary password is sent to all
new users of Kronos. All new users are required to reset the provided
password immediately.
Other password requirements are:
Passwords reset every 90 Days
New passwords must be different from the previous two
Passwords must be eight characters, and follow Cornell’s Strong Password
rules (http://www.cit.cornell.edu/identity/password.h
To request a password reset, send an email to: kronos@cornell.edu
Use Log Off rather than the browser’s close button (X) to end the Kronos session.
Closing the browser rather than using the Log Off link keeps an open connection
behind the scenes (up to 30 minutes). This can lead to performance issues on busy
days.
Non Managerial Employees default to the employee view, which is the user’s timecard.
All Managers initially see a blank work space upon logging on. Clicking the Find button will
display all of their employees. Displayed employees can be reviewed, approved and reported
on. If a manager is also an employee, he/she can use the My Information link to view their
own timecard.
Select the My Genies options for online manager reports
• QuickFind is the default display, enter a name or number and click the Find button.
Partial names and/or numbers can be used with the wildcard (*).
• Use the Pay Period Close link to view timecard approval status.
• Most of the reports allow selection of a group of employees and designated time frame.
Select Scheduling options for Exempt reports.
• Accrual – Exempt Balance 7.8 shows the names of all exempt employees regardless of
standard hours. However, to view balances of part time people, use the reports specific
to the desired standard hours.
