About Friends of County Parks
The Friends of the County Parks, established in 1988, is a group of concerned citizens joining together to promote financial and community support to the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation, and Conservation Department. They develop public awareness of recreation as an important part of day-to-day life.
Funds provided by The Friends of the County Parks are used as a supplement to the Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department budget and does not replace allocated tax dollars. These additional funds helps maintain, improve, and enhance services provided by the Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department. The Friends of the County Parks enjoys a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit exemption status.

HAUNTED HIGHWAYS
Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation Department
held its first Haunted Highways Trick or Treat for kids.
This was a drive thru event where we had
participants decorate their cars and families drove
thru for goodie bags. The event was held at 4
recreations: Ruskin, Keystone, EP Johnson, and
Northdale. Each site had enough goodie bags for 500
kids.
HIKING SPREE 2020-2021
The 2020-2021 Hiking Spree is back beginning November
2020 and ending in March 2021. This is do it yourself
program but you do need to sign up for it. Fall and Winter
in Florida is the perfect time to get outside and hike
through our beautiful parks. We have made it easy for
your to sign up –simply click on the link below and

VETERAN’S DAY CLOSINGS
Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation
Department Recreation Centers will be
closed on Wednesday, November 11th in
honor of Veteran’s Day. Please take a
moment out your to honor those that have
served our country to give us the freedom
that we have.
SKATEBOARD LESSONS
Would you like to learn how to
skateboard. Hillsborough County is
offering skateboard lessons at its
skateboard parks. Lessons are offered at
Jackson Springs Skate Park, Providence
Skate Park and Apollo Beach Skate Park.
