Easy to do, easy to teach!

This interactive session is all about you ! You
will learn to use the individualized informa-
tion in Canada’s Food Guide to evaluate your
own food choices, and how the information
on food labels can help you make informed
decisions at “point of purchase”. The learning
activities in this workshop also form the foun-
dation for teaching nutrition in the classroom
at all grades. Brought to you by the registered
dieticians of the Dairy Farmers of Manitoba.
Note: This is a “prerequisite” for the after-
noon session: K–6 Classroom Nutrition:
your lesson plans are done!

Comedy and Humour in
the life of a teacher
Warren Persowich is a licensed
School Psychologist in the Prov-
ince of Manitoba who also has a
decided interest in comedy. While
proudly assisting with portions of
urban and rural Manitoba’s Edu-
cational and Clinical needs War-
ren also honed his performance
skills and established himself as a
legitimate headliner in the realm
of stand-up comedy with a na-
tional television appearance on
CBC’s celebrated “The Winnipeg
Comedy Festival.” Having the good fortune to team in an inclusive professional mi-
lieu in the Seven Oaks School Division Warren is now bridging comedy and educa-
tion and psychology to help students understand the powerful communication tool
that humour provides.
