COMMUNITY YOUTH MAPPING JOB DESCRIPTION FOR COORDINATOR Nature of Work This is a professional position involving the coordination of the planning and fieldwork of the Community Youth Mapping process, which is the collection and recording of geographical informational data. An employee in this class performs duties under the supervision of the Community Youth Mapping lead organization. Work involves a considerable amount of public contact in providing and in soliciting data. Illustrative Tasks Responsible for working with youth and adults daily to monitor their task assignment, survey methods, and data entry Will be responsible for the of youth and adults at all times and assist youth in problem solving Will participate in the Human Services research evaluation components of the program Will assist in the adaptation of survey instruments Will assist in the collection and preparation of data for formal presentation Will maintain a high standard of successful role modeling for youth that reflects enthusiasm, creativity, flexibility, and activities that are fun and educational Will provide feedback, growth experiences, recognition to youth and adults to enhance confidence and self-esteem Will assist with the training of youth mappers Will assist with the transportation of youth mappers to work sites, as needed Will maintain fields and records as directed May work non-traditional schedule in order to accommodate school schedules Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, orally and in writing Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions Ability to analyze facts, maintain records, prepare reports, and exercise sound judgement Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and the public Knowledge of basic data collection Basic understanding of educational methods and behavioral modification models Minimum Qualifications College degree required, preferably in education, social work , or related field Special Requirements Must possess a valid Driver’s License upon hiring. Termination could result if required license is not acquired. Must be insured as a motorist Must meet state criminal background check requirements
