An EPC report is a Certificate which states the energy efficiency of a building based on the standardised way in which a building is used. CO2 ratings are shown in bands from A-G. A being very efficient, G being very inefficient.

What you need to know
An EPC report is a Certificate which states the energy efficiency of a building based on the
standardised way in which a building isused. CO2 ratings are shown in bands from A-G.
What is an EPC
To assess the building's 'energy efficiency
rating' ( how much fuel bills are likely to be)
To assess the building's 'environmental impact
rating'( how much the building affects the
environment with CO2 emissions)
What is it used for?
Do I need an EPC?
If you are selling your property then you will
need an EPC as it is one of three
prescribed documents in a home report as
stipulated by the Scottish Government.
What are EPC
These are ratings (A-G) which indicate how energy
efficient your property is:
A = very energy efficient with lower running costs
G = not energy efficient with higher running costs
What is assessed in an EPC?
The assessor will inspect the property to give an indication
of how much it will cost to power and heat your home.
BOILERS AND HEATING
How long do EPC's last?
They last for 10 years
