Any document, from anywhere: we are your one-stop supplier for document delivery. Choose the service that’s right for you NRC-CISTI offers a choice of Document Delivery services, depending on whether your document is in NRC-CISTI’s collection, and how quickly you need it. With the introduction of NRC-CISTI’s Discover service, clients now have the option of registering for our traditional account based document delivery service or using Discover to search, order and pay online using a credit card. Registration is not required for the Discover service. For fast, reliable access to the documents in NRC-CISTI’s collection, use Direct Service. Direct Service offers: • Processing of most documents in 24 hours or less • Reasonable rates • Ariel, fax, Secure Desktop Delivery or courier delivery • Convenient ordering options For documents not in NRC-CISTI’s collection, we offer Extended Supply Service, which provides access to articles, books and other documents held by our partners and suppli- ers from around the world. NRC-CISTI is committed to provid- ing superior client service, achieving rapid turnaround times and meeting users’ needs at the lowest cost possible. Our Guaranteed URGENT document delivery service Clients needing guaranteed, fast delivery of their documents can use NRC-CISTI's Urgent Document Delivery service. Urgent service features a guaranteed 2-hour turnaround time for delivery by Ariel or fax, and ensures special handling of your order. It doesn’t require any pre-registration or user name and pass- word to order a document. Users can search NRC-CISTI’s arti- cle database, select articles of interest and add them to a shopping cart for checkout and credit card payment. NRC-CISTI’s article database includes millions of articles held in our collection of over 12,000 journals. All articles, except those which are open access, are 12 CAD plus publisher fee and applicable taxes, and are delivered in a secure, encrypted format that can be viewed and printed one time only. There is no charge for open access articles. Documents delivered from NRC-CISTI’s electronic journal col- lection will be available for immediate viewing. Documents from NRC-CISTI’s print journal collection must first be scanned. You will receive an e-mail message, usually within 24 hours, notifying you that your article is ready to be viewed and printed. Document Delivery at NRC-CISTI eBook Loans NRC-CISTI has partnered with MyiLibrary to offer eBook Loans, a new and afford- able service to access eBook content at the desktop. Enjoy instant access to thousands of eBooks from major scholarly publishers. It’s easy – All you need is an e-mail address and a Web browser! A simple click on the “Borrow this eBook” button in the NRC-CISTI Catalogue (http://cat.cisti- icist.nrc-cnrc.gc.ca/search) will take you to the MyiLibrary site. You also have the option to order books for yourself, or have the URL delivered to another end user! And it’s affordable – For only 25 USD, receive immediate access to your eBook through a URL sent to you via email. There is no need to return a borrowed eBook, as the link automatically expires after 30 days. Direct Service Use Direct Service to order scientific, technical and medical documents from NRC-CISTI’s collection, and agricultural doc- uments from our partner, the Canadian Agriculture Library (CAL). NRC-CISTI’s catalogue now lists an additional 10,000 serial records from our partners in Asia. For the lowest cost, order electronically and have your documents delivered by Ariel, Secure Desktop Delivery (SDD) or fax. The cost of this level of service is 13 CAD per copy in Canada and 14 USD outside of Canada, plus applicable copyright and taxes. Loans: Books from the NRC-CISTI and CAL collections are available for loan for 6 weeks. All loans are delivered by couri- er. NRC-CISTI reserves the right, under special circumstances, to convert fax, Ariel or SDD orders to courier. Extended Supply Service NRC-CISTI’s partners NRC-CISTI has formal arrangements with several international libraries whose collections complement NRC-CISTI’s strength in science, technology and medicine. Through Extended Supply Service, we are able to deliver documents of all types in all subject areas. To speed response time, NRC-CISTI has made arrangements to have our partners deliver documents by Ariel and fax directly to clients. Most documents from our partners are delivered within 72 hours. Other Suppliers NRC-CISTI can obtain virtually any article, paper, report, book, conference, patent, standard or thesis from anywhere in the world for you. Extended Supply Service includes verifying the information provided. Most orders will be filled within 10 working days; however, searches will continue until the order is filled, or up to 20 working days. Loan periods vary, based on the loan policy of the supplier. Copy prices for Extended Supply Service start at $24 per copy and $60 per book loan, plus applicable copyright and taxes. There is an extra charge for courier delivery. If the total price is higher than $50, we will contact you for authorization. There is a charge for lost or damaged books. We always supply your document using the lowest cost service that meets your needs. If, for example, you order a document through Extended Supply Service, and we can provide it through Direct Service, you pay the lower cost. Document Delivery Service Levels Clean or colour copies NRC-CISTI can handle your special document require- ments, for an additional charge. Clean copies boast supe- rior graphic resolution, and have no smudges, marks or staples. NRC-CISTI can also provide superior colour copies. Clean and colour copies are processed within about 48 hours and delivered by courier. Clean or colour copies: $12 surcharge Contact us for special handling or custom requirements.
