Categories Internet Browsers: • Internet Explorer • Mozilla Firefox • Google Chrome Operating Systems (OS): • Windows XP • Windows Vista Internet Explorer We are going to cover the following ways you can customize the way IE looks. (The following might be different than yours at the time this was written) First Go to Tools, click on Internet Options, on the General Tab Click Colors. Uncheck 'Use Windows Colors' and change the colors as you wish. You can also change the font of Internet Explorer by following the same instructions as before but instead of clicking Colors click on Font. Mozilla Firefox The following is for Mozilla Firefox users. Firefox in my opinion (and many others) is the best Internet Browser. It has security, speed and a sleek interface. Another great feature about Firefox is its endless amount of add ons. There are literally more than a trillion add ons for you to browse through. To check them out click here To change the Firefox looks look through their Themes. You can literally make it look like Internet Explorer or even Google Chrome. Google Chrome Just like Mozilla Firefox Google Chrome also has themes to browse through. Check them out here. Windows XP In this section we will be going through various ways you can customize Windows XP. How To Make XP Look Like Vista: I covered how to do this on Guide Goods so I will just Copy/Paste it on to here. First things first visit Lee-Soft. You should see four large. I will go through each box and show you how it will look in before and after pictures. ViStart: Vistart changes the way your start menu looks like to give it a much cooler look to it just like Vista's. Before: After: It has a nice glossy look to it and is clearly more user friendly. There is a little search box at the bottom to it where you can type the program name and it will come up in seconds. ViGlance: Viglance changes the way open programs look like in the task bar. To tell you the truth this is from Windows 7 but it still looks cool in XP. Before: After: It really adds style to your task bar. Its very convenient you just hover your mouse over something in the task bar and this square pops up with what ever you hovered over. ViSplore: For some strange reason this one wouldn't load up on my computer but I can still explain to you what it is. Visplore changes the way you access files from your computer. This is a screen shot of the program from there website. ViOrb: Viorb changes the way your start menu looks like to the way it looks like in Windows Vista Before: After: If you want to also change the way your icons look check out Icon Tweaker. How To Make XP Look Like An Apple Mac: First browse through Deviant Arts Mac skins which you can see here. Pick whichever you like and download it. Unzip it and click on what ever file that ends in '.msstyles' for example 'Vista Aero.msstyles'. The screen that should pop up is Display Properties under the Appearance tab. Scroll down in Windows and Buttons and click on whatever the skin is called. Click Apply, OK and your set. To get the Mac Dock download Rocket Dock an amazing alternative to it. After you have done so go through the options and pick a skin you like that you feel has that Mac look to it. You can put the task bar at the top of the screen by Right Clicking it and Unlocking the task bar and dragging it to the top of the screen. Lock it again once finished.
