The fact that you can record a story on Instagram is probably not new to you. This feature
was added to the app in September 2016 and has since become Snapchat's direct

What are Instagram Stories, actually?
Stories are a special form of recordings that a private individual or company can share with their
followers via their profile. These are not shown in the profile's picture gallery but in an extra area
of the app. In addition, stories are automatically deleted after 24 hours. They are designed to
complement users' normal Instagram pages and give you the opportunity to connect with
followers in a more personal way.
This guide will tell you how you can view other users' Instagram stories anonymously.
Take photos or videos.
A photo or a video can be quickly taken with the smartphone, also for your Instagram story:
Open the Instagram app on your smartphone. From there, tap your profile icon in the top
left to open the story feature. Alternatively, you can swipe right to take a photo. You may then
have to allow access to your microphone.
Here you can now see the camera of the Instagram app. In the story, you can choose between
different functions. To take a normal photo, tap the button in the middle once quickly - for a
video, press and hold the button. You can also tap the gallery icon on the bottom left to select a
previously taken photo from your smartphone camera roll. You can also set the flash at the top
and switch between the front and rear cameras at the bottom right. If you swipe left next to the
