Manifestations of Pride: Devastating Yourself or Angered By Criticism One big problem that I see with people is their attitude towards sin. Most think or agree that they do sin. But they don’t seem to understand the depth of their sin. They claim, “Yes, I’m a sinner and so are you.” As if it has no effect on them at all. They simply feel like it is the norm because everyone else is the same. The truth of the matter is they have done a crime that damns them to Hell for all eternity before a Holy and good God. Just one sin separated an individual from God. By the time one gets out of bed in the morning and goes down to eat breakfast they’ve already done enough to be condemned forever. Homosexuals try to comfort themselves by seeking others that are involved in the same behavior and they try to find normality among themselves because their friends, club, etc. all relate to the same activity. But if you try to explain that it is not normal nor could the human race survive if everyone decided one day to become a homosexual. The entire human population wouldn’t exist if homosexuality was a normal activity. Even among the theory of evolution. The evolution process doesn’t allow for this behavior to exist. But no matter how nice you can say this to an individual that is involved with this sin. They will strongly disapprove of your suggestion and won’t even think about the consequences. Their motto “Gay Pride” pretty much sums it up. They are too prideful to admit the dangers. A proud person has a great deal with criticism. They cannot bear that they are not perfect, or wrong, or have weaknesses because they can’t accept who they really are or the truth. Matthew Henry writes, “There is little hope of those that will not so much as hear rebuke with any patience, but scorn to submit to government and scoff at those that deal faithfully with them.” When one doesn’t want to hear how wicked, vile, filthy and wretched they are and admit they need a savior this is simply pride being manifested in them. Pride is what prevents many to repent and trust in Christ.
