ACCDCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES STEPS TO BE TAKEN IN CASE MATERIAL IS RELEASED OR SPILLED: o Stop the spill or leak. o Contain or dike the spilled product. o Evacuate spill area and keep nonessential or unprotected personnel away. o Equip clean-up personnel with necessary personal protective equipment (see Section VIII-Control Measures). o Prevent spilled material from entering soil, sewers, surface water, ground water, streams, or any other bodies of water. o Retain any contaminated water for removal and treatment. o Absorb small spills with inert material (e.g. dry sand, earth, chemical absorbent, etc.). o Scoop up absorbed material and absorbent and place in an approved chemical waste container. o Large spills may be taken up with pump or vacuum & then finished off with dry absorbent. o Report spill per regulatory requirements. 7.
