This course will provide an overview of the electric vehicle and
hybrid technology. The topics covered will include electric vehicle
technology, hybrid technology, economics, regulations, environ-
mental impact, and safety.
EVT 110
Introduction to Electric

Vehicle Conversions
Prerequisite: None.
Hours: 54 hours LEC; 54 hours LAB
This course will cover the theory and actual conversion of an
internal combustion engine (ICE) to a battery powered electric
vehicle. Topics to be covered are the process of conversion of an
ICE vehicle to electric power, to include modifications, assembly,
operation, testing and general maintenance of electric vehicles.
EVT 130
Electric Vehicle Batteries
3 Units
Prerequisite: None.
Hours: 54 hours LEC
This course introduces students to current battery technology as it
relates to electric vehicles. Students will be instructed on the vari-
ous types of batteries found in automobiles, motorcycles, aircraft
and marine batteries. Emphasis will be placed on battery theory,
safety, handling, construction and maintenance.
