In the two years since I’ve been illegally evicted, life has really boiled down to the
essentials. Do I have enough water, food, medicine, gas & a safe place to park
tonight? It’s just the nature of living conditions for hundreds of thousands of
Americans these days.
I refuse to be a victim-as anyone who knows me will confirm. I fight back. Always. But
in this “new life”, as with any experience, I’ve had to adapt, remain flexible at the last
minute, & become comfortable with a steep learning curve, which is never easy, & less
so now.
As I try to rebuild my virtual business after a lengthy hiatus preoccupied with my
lawsuit against the bribing, bullying, corrupt & degenerate real estate developer
(Related Companies-for more on them, check my social media), an old friend stepped
into the picture with an unexpected gift.
For the first time in years, I entertained the thought of getting my hair cut. Especially
since I’m planning to restart my vlog posts & other forums where I’ll be on camera.
I grappled with the idea that a haircut is essentially-well, non-essential, in lieu of
what’s on my plate continually. But this gift was unexpected. And although I made
sure to have ordered Halo’s vet meds & my prescription for Meniere’s… I made an
appointment to get my hair cut.
I realized that sometimes, when you have been fighting the good fight for a very long
time, something deemed previously “non-essential”, becomes something of an
essential, very real boon to boost your very existence.
Life has been very lean these past few years. Sitting in the stylist’s chair having my
head massaged & regaining my look-somewhat, was exactly what was imperative to
my well-being as I move forward with strength & confidence to persist in everything
that needs to be addressed.
A steep learning curve indeed. Sometimes you just have to accept that non-essential
item or activity is a very essential element of your continued progress & motivated
perseverance.
After feeling so battered for so long-what a kick of morale I’ve gotten from something
most people don’t give a second thought to.
Be kind to yourself if you’ve been surviving trauma or duress. Sometimes something
so non-essential can indeed give you a much-needed lift.
Many thanks D.W. for the thoughtfulness & caring.
Best, Jo-Anna Concierge Jo-Anna~Communications Connector
